The ICANN Meeting 57 took place on November 3-9, 2016 in Hyderabad, India. Оne session within its framework was devoted to issues of corporate policy in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries. Irina Danelia, CEO of the TLD .DETI, underlined that language barrier is still one of the problems hindering the region representatives involvement in ICANN activities and IDN’s development e.g. such as .DETI. At that time she praised highly efforts of the corporation in this matter and underlined the good quality of the recent materials translated into Russian. In addition, Irina spoke about the need to bridge the gap between the ICANN requirements and the national legislation in the region, especially in matters of user’s personal data protection.
