On June 16, the 14th educational webinar of the Coordination Center for ccTLD .RU/.РФ took place on VK-public Safe information environment of childhood. The domain .ДЕТИ (dot CHILDREN in English) is the traditional information partner of the event. On this platform, ccTLD .RU/.РФ specialists and the organization's partners discuss social and educational initiatives in the field of digital literacy and culture.

The guest of the meeting was Nadezhda Kuznetsova, a children's poet, president of the Foundation for the Support and Development of Children's Literature, a member of the Commission on Children's Literature of the Union of Russian Writers; she was awarded the medal "For Accomplishments in Culture and Art".

The Foundation, led by Nadezhda, joined as a partner the 8th All-Russian Family IT Marathon, which was held by ccTLD .RU/.РФ this spring and was dedicated to technology in education. The winners of the competition, in addition to the main gifts, received collections of poetry and prose from the Foundation named "To remember ..." which included works by classics of the twentieth century and modern authors about the Great Patriotic War.

In addition to Nadezhda's work and the Foundation's activities, speakers discussed how children's literature participates in the formation of the information environment. According to Nadezhda, the information environment is created by the "beholder" himself: the depth and variety of forms of the media and digital environment in which each individual exists depends on his worldview, habits, intellectual development and environment.

The speakers came to the conclusion that children's literature, as one of the first sources of information and knowledge in a person's life, can perform several functions:

• educational (through fairy tales, short stories and poems, children get to know the world around them, developing imagination and cognitive abilities);
• entertaining (fascinating content promotes the development of creative abilities and text analysis skills);
• upbringing (the formation of moral and ethical standards).

At the same time, the special feature of the educational function can be considered the ability of children's literature to form safe behavior – not only in the physical world, but also in the virtual one. So, through fairy tales and stories, the child gets the first ideas about good and evil, honesty and deception; these values are transferred to the digital world, helping the child to distinguish between useful and harmful Internet resources. By reading books, the child learns to analyze the actions of the characters, assess the consequences of actions and choose the right decision; this leads to the development of critical thinking skills. Finally, the development of interest in high-quality literature helps to reduce the risk of excessive involvement in social networks and computer games.
