Competition for Aspiring IT Journalists Started

On May 27, the 12th competition for professional and aspiring journalists who write about domains and digital technologies, “DOT-journalism 2024” was launched on the main stage of RIF in the City 2024.

The competition is held by the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.ÐÔ and the Russian Association of Electronic Communications with the support of the Smart Internet Foundation (Registry of the .ÄÅÒÈ (.DETI, which means children)).

This year, works for the competition are accepted in 4 main categories:

  • “Milestones of Runet” (the best publication for the 30th anniversary of .RU and Runet)
  • “Domain Coffee Break” - How the industry lives” (reports on various industry events)
  • “Domain (Un)Safety” (publications on cybersecurity)
  • “About Domains in Details” (the best publication for the general reader)

In addition, a special nomination has been announced for authors under 18 years - aspiring IT journalists and bloggers. “This year, young journalists can choose any of the nominations for professionals - we will evaluate the work in their age category, but the topics for the work are the same as for adults,” Irina Danelia, Deputy Director of the Smart Internet Foundation, said. “I believe that our competition has been performing an important function for many years, supporting the media covering Internet technologies.”

Applications for the “DOT-Journalism 2024” will be accepted until November 1, 2024, and the results will be summed up in December 2024 - the laureates will receive diplomas and valuable prizes.
